Nathan's Hot-Dog Contest to Take Place—Without Crowd to Eat It Up
 
Nathan's Famous has announced that its Nathan's Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest will still happen, but with some modifications due to the pandemic. It will be held at a private location on Coney Island with no audience. Officials also said the company would also make sure proper social distancing measures between officials and contestants would be maintained.
 
"We are following all safety rules," said George Shea, Major League Eating chairman and host of the competition for more than two decades, in the above Wall Street Journal article.
 
RaceTrac Launches New Fuel Rewards VIP Program
 
RaceTrac has announced the launch of RaceTrac Rewards VIP, which is the brand's new monthly fuel subscription program. For $2.49 a month, this program will save members 10 cents per gallon on the first 40 gallons and 3 cents per gallon after that with each fuel purchase every month.
 
"At RaceTrac, we believe in providing Whatever Gets You Going, and that includes the fuel to get you on your way to where ever you are going," said Melanie Isbill, Chief Marketing Officer of RaceTrac, in a RaceTrac press release. Amazon is Using AR to Encourage Employee Social Distancing
 
Amazon has announced a new "Distance Assistant" that is designed to help workers maintain the WHO-prescribed social distance of six feet.
 
According to the above Tech Crunch article, "Amazon's VP and robotics head Brad Porter detailed the augmented reality system that's already in place in a smattering of the company's fulfillment centers. "The standalone unit uses machine learning models to differentiate people from their surroundings. Combined with depth sensors, it creates an accurate distance measurement between associates. As people walk past the camera, a monitor displays live video with visual overlays to show if associates are within six feet of one another. Individuals remaining six feet apart are highlighted with green circles, while those who are closer together are highlighted with red circles."
 
Doordash Will Deliver Non-Prescription Essentials from CVS
 
DoorDash has announced that it has expanded its offerings and will start delivering non-prescription items from CVS pharmacies as well as some of the new locations like 7-Eleven, Wawa, and Circle K.
 
According to an enGadget article, "As of today, DoorDash customers in select cities can order over 3,000 items from CVS — ranging from groceries to cleaning products and over-the-counter medicines. The deliveries will be no-contact by default, and users won't be required to sign up for a delivery time slot or pre-schedule. To start, the service will be available in Dallas, Houston, New York City, and Philadelphia. DoorDash and CVS plan to expand the partnership in the Bronx, Brooklyn, San Francisco, and Boston metro areas this summer."
 
Uber Eats' New Loyalty Program Lets You Earn Rewards from Your Favorite Restaurants
 
Uber Eats has announced that its new loyalty program will allow customers to earn rewards points from the individual restaurants as well as from Uber.
 
"Over the last few months, customers have been more supportive than ever of their favorite restaurants — whether that's the local Ethiopian spot around the corner or the trusty deli up the street," Uber Eats said in a statement Monday in the above Thrillist article. "That's why we're bringing restaurant loyalty programs to your app experience. Restaurants who choose to participate will be able to create their own loyalty program from the ground up, while Uber Eats customers can easily monitor their progress towards their next reward."
