Starbucks to Offer Rewards Members More Ways to Pay and Earn Stars
Starbucks announced plans to update its industry-leading Starbucks Rewards loyalty program by giving members more payment options and ways to earn Stars through the Starbucks app.

Beginning this fall in company-operated stores in the U.S. and Canada, Starbucks Rewards members will also be able to scan their app and then pay with cash, credit/debit cards, or select mobile wallets and earn Stars toward free items. Members will also be able to save these payment methods directly in the Starbucks app to earn stars when paying. These enhancements will be in addition to the current option of earnings Stars by paying with a Starbucks Card in stores and within the app.

“Having a connection with our customers, whether in our stores or digitally, allows us to anticipate their needs and deliver the products and experiences they are looking for,” says Brady Brewer, Starbucks chief marketing officer. “Our customers have shared with us that they would like more options to pay and earn Stars in the app as a Starbucks Rewards member, in addition to the Starbucks Card.”
 
Ocean Spray Launches National Recycling Program with TerraCycle
Ocean Spray Cranberries, the agricultural cooperative owned by more than 700 farmer families, has formed a partnership with waste management company TerraCycle to launch a free recycling program that enables consumers to recycle Ocean Spray flexible plastic Craisins dried cranberries and snack packaging for alternative use.

Through the partnership, Ocean Spray is advancing its sustainable packaging strategy by helping to divert waste from landfills and extending the life of materials to reduce the overall environmental footprint of a product.

Participants can send their Ocean Spray Craisins dried cranberry products that are inflexible plastic packaging to TerraCycle, where the packaging is cleaned and melted into hard plastic that can be remolded to make new recycled products, such as park benches and picnic tables. As an added incentive, for each shipment of Ocean Spray Craisins dried cranberries packaging sent to TerraCycle through the Ocean Spray Recycling Program, participants earn points that can be donated to a non-profit, school or charitable organization of their choice.
 
Nutrisystem Debuts Its Body Select Program In Walmart Stores And On Walmart.com
Nutrisystem has started its Body Select program in Walmart stores and on Walmart.com. The Nutrisystem Body Select program is designed to work with an individual’s distinct body type and includes recommendations for the best approach to weight loss for each body type.

The program is offered as a 5-day kit that contains 5 breakfasts, 5 lunches and 5 dinners with customized macronutrients and add-ons such as snacks and shakes. Customers can also purchase individual items a la carte.

Burlington Stores Donates Over $1.53 Million to AdoptAClassroom.org
Non-profit AdoptAClassroom.org announced that national off-price retailer Burlington Stores donated more than $1.53 million to help offset the money that teachers spend out of their own pockets each year, ensuring that their students have access to the educational materials necessary to learn and succeed. AdoptAClassroom.org will use these funds to benefit more than 3,500 teachers and 88,000 students in Burlington store communities nationwide.

Burlington hosted their fourth consecutive in-store fundraising campaign from August 3 to September 7. At each of the 735 nationwide Burlington locations, shoppers were encouraged to donate to the organization at check-out, just in time for the start of this unprecedented 2020 school year. Over the course of the partnership, Burlington has donated more than $7 million to AdoptAClassroom.org through this yearly back-to-school timed campaign in support of nearly 1 million students.
