PetSmart Offers Savings and Double Loyalty Points

PetSmart is offering savings all season long with deals for every shopper as well as bonus rewards for loyalty Treats members through the new year. Beginning October 24, PetSmart Treats loyalty members will receive double points on all Merry & Bright holiday items.

For gifts that give back, shoppers can purchase plush toys from PetSmart's philanthropic Chance & Friends collection to either gift to their pet or donate to PetSmart's annual toy drive. PetSmart will also be making donations to several PetSmart Charities throughout the holiday season.
 

Amazon to Invest in Underrepresented Entrepreneurs

Amazon announced Amazon Catalytic Capital, a new initiative to invest $150 million in venture capital funds, accelerators, incubators, and venture studios that provide funding to entrepreneurs from underrepresented backgrounds, primarily at the pre-seed/seed stage of venture capital funding. The company will invest in funds that focus on Black, Latino, Indigenous, women, and LGBTQIA+ founders. 

In addition to capital, the companies in the funds’ portfolios will receive mentorship from Amazon executives and gain access to resources to support their business and technical strategy. Amazon teams will also work with the startups to identify partnership and product collaboration opportunities that could accelerate their growth.

Arby’s Appoints Brand Chief Marketing Officer

Arby’s recently named Rita Patel as Brand Chief Marketing Officer. As CMO, Patel will oversee Arby’s brand strategy, menu, and culinary innovation, as well as advertising and integrated marketing communications. She will report directly to Arby’s Brand President, Jim Taylor.

Patel joined Inspire Brands in 2020 as Brand Chief Marketing Officer for Buffalo Wild Wings. In this role, she strengthened the Buffalo Wild Wings marketing organization, driving strong results for the brand and establishing integrated ways of working between marketing, supply chain, and Buffalo Wild Wings franchisees.
