Best Buy announced a national program allowing consumers to recycle old electronics through the mail. Users order a prepaid Best Buy Technology Recycling Box, mail the electronics, and Best Buy will either give the technology a second life or recycle it.

To use the service, consumers will:

  1. Purchase a small or medium box from BestBuy.com

  1. Fill the box with old electronics

  1. Ship the box through a UPS drop-off location or schedule a UPS pickup

“We continue to build on our commitment to be there for our customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their products by making recycling simple and convenient,” says Tim Dunn, Best Buy’s Head of Environmental Sustainability. “Sustainability is at the forefront of everything we do and this new service is another step we are taking to protect the planet today and for future generations.”

Additionally, Best Buy’s recycling service will be a carbon neutral service, building toward the brand’s goal to achieve net zero emissions by 2040.
