Maruchan Releases Brand Anthem to Honor its Loyal Fans  

Maruchan has released a ditty that it calls a love song to devotees of the brand’s instant ramen noodles. The 30-second jingle’s lyrics are direct quotes from fans’ comments on social media set to a catchy beat. Here’s a sample:  

                                                                 Must be ramen on the brain 
                                                          I love slurping noodles while gaming 

Maruchan enthusiasts have expressed their affection for years online, creating fan art and swapping creative recipes. "Our mission in creating Maruchan's Anthem is to honor our dedicated fans who show the brand love and recognize that not all instant ramen is created equal," said Mark Machino, Manager, Sales and Marketing at Maruchan. 

The song was composed by AMP Agency as part of a multimedia campaign that includes live pop-up events this month in San Diego, Nashville, and San Antonio. Amp Creative Director John DeGray called the tune “a lyrical embodiment of all that the Maruchan community loves about the brand.” AMP is currently working with influencers on TikTok and Instagram to keep the music playing.  

 

Bojangles Raises Over Half a Million for Folds of Honor  

The Southern restaurant chain Bojangles this week donated $563,311 to Folds of Honor, a national nonprofit that provides scholarships to families of fallen or disabled service members and first responders. The check was presented at the company’s franchise convention in Orlando by country music star Lee Bruce, a longtime supporter of the charity.  

The donation came from customers who participated in various fundraising activities at Bojangles restaurants such as rounding their checks to the nearest dollar. “While we are proud of our donation to Folds of Honor, there is no way we can adequately express our gratitude for the sacrifices our veterans and first responders and their families have made,” said Ken Reynolds, Executive Director of the Bojangles Foundation. “It’s clear our customers feel the same way based on the proceeds we were able to raise.”  

Folds of Honor has awarded over 44,000 scholarships totaling more than $200 million to families in all fifty states. Bojangles has raised more than $1.8 million for the organization since 2021.  
 

Big Lots Makes Every Friday Black Friday  

The discount retailer Big Lots doesn’t want shoppers to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to hunt for deals. Every Friday until December 22, Big Lots is offering one-day discounts up to 50% across product categories. Sale items are available in stores only during regular Friday hours.   

"Every week, we're bringing shoppers a Black Friday deal, including special offers on food and home essentials to holiday décor, gifts, furniture and more,” said Bruce Thorn, President and CEO of Big Lots.”  

Members of the retailer’s BIG Rewards loyalty program receive advance notice of the offers every Thursday by email. Newsweek ranked BIG Rewards among the best loyalty programs in the nation for home furnishings in 2022.
