Brandon Coleman III has been named the new CEO of TGI Fridays. The national restaurant chain has made the move to “shake up” the brand and its public image. The company looks to expand menu options and improve customer service under Coleman’s leadership.
“Brandon has proven time and time again that innovation layered on top of rich brand history is the key to sustained and impactful growth,” says Rohit Manocha, chairman of the board and co-founder of TriArtisan Capital. “Since first coming to the company as our chief marketing officer, following a storied career in the restaurant industry, Brandon has been driving greater relevance and stronger connection with today’s consumers. TriArtisan Capital Partners believes in the future of TGI Fridays and we know what it takes for this restaurant to win.”
Coleman aims to re-establish Fridays as an experiential bar and social gathering place while also offering new cocktails, brand partnerships, and new soft drink options. The company will also continue its partnership with C3’s Krispy Rice, started during Ray Blanchette’s tenure, which added sushi to the Fridays menu for the first time. Coleman has several accomplishments under his belt with the expansion of the Fridays location in the Dallas-Fort Worth airport. He has also introduced the new “Grilled & Sauced” menu platform to deliver new flavors to restaurant guests.
GNC and Ordergroove Sign Partnership Renewal to Advance Consumer Health and Well-Being via Omnichannel Subscriptions and Memberships
Ordergroove, the subscription solutions platform, has partnered with GNC to renew GNC’s omnichannel subscription and membership programs. Since 2015, these two brands have worked together to improve GNC’s membership programs and will continue to deliver on GNC’s mission to spark customers’ motivation and support their desire to live well.

“We are proud to extend our partnership with GNC, a retailer I’ve been a customer of since growing up in Miami, Florida, and a brand that is synonymous with consumer health,” says Ordergroove’s CEO Greg Alvo. “This renewal underscores the trust and confidence GNC places in Ordergroove’s best-in-class omnichannel subscription and membership solutions that drive profitable, recurring revenue. We look forward to being an integral part of driving GNC’s mission of fostering well-being for years to come.”
Taco Bell and DoorDash to Offer $5 Million Worth of Tacos
DoorDash is joining Taco Bell in its celebration of Taco Tuesdays. Due to legal concerns surrounding the phrase Taco Tuesday, Taco Bell and other Mexican restaurant chains could not use the term in their advertising. Now, after Taco John’s dropped their case, Taco Bell and Door Dash are offering $5 Million in tacos on Taco Tuesday, September 12.
“Since the day we filed the legal petitions, our goal has always been to create a world where everyone can freely celebrate and promote Taco Tuesday, because when tacos win, we all win. It’s been remarkable to see local restaurants already begin to celebrate Taco Tuesday their way, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with DoorDash to help elevate those small businesses even further,” says Taco Bell U.S. Chief Marketing Officer, Taylor Montgomery. “While Tuesdays hold a special place in our heart and will continue to do so, this celebration isn’t just about opening up a taco tab. It’s about championing every individual who makes, sells, eats and celebrates tacos. This Taco Tuesday is for them.”
Covering the cost for taco lovers on September 12 provides taco lovers with the opportunity to explore new restaurants in their area to try new flavors, tastes, and vendors for that kick of taco deliciousness. 20,000 restaurants will be able to provide their tasty tacos thanks to the brand partnership in 49 states (New Jersey excluded). Interested readers can save by ordering through DoorDash. DoorDash users will receive $5 off any $15+ order with participating Mexican restaurants for one day only, Tuesday, September 12, using code TACOTAB. To learn more, visit TacoBell.com.
