Alaska Airlines has announced changes to its Mileage Plan loyalty program to give members more opportunities to redeem reward miles for travel. Starting in March 2024, the airline will increase the inventory of award-eligible seats on 10% of partner routes, covering more than 370 global destinations. Members will gain access to award seats on itineraries outside North America, including Madrid to London, Paris to Sydney, and Tokyo to Singapore.

Alaska Airlines will also reduce the number of reward miles required for popular global destinations. The airline says that mileage requirements to travel from the West Coast to London or Tokyo will decline by 15%.

The airline plans to offer limited time deals each quarter with special award pricing on specific routes, destinations, or partner airlines. Members will remain eligible for free stops at a partner’s hub on the way to their final destination.

“Mileage Plan has long been known for offering great value on global redemptions with access to some of the most aspirational premium products and destinations,” said Brett Catlin, Vice President of Loyalty, Alliances and Sales at Alaska Airlines. “We’re excited to provide a more straightforward award proposition while doubling down on the opportunities our guests will have to find amazing values.”
