BurgerFi® To Reopen Flagship NYC Location With New Better Burger Lab
The national restaurant chain specializing in chef-crafted burgers and craft beer, BurgerFi plans to reopen its flagship eatery on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in December. The reimagined space will feature the chain’s first Better Burger Lab, which the company says will give customers the opportunity to help decide what’s on the menu.
“The Burger Lab will create a unique experience that remains true to delivering BurgerFi's great service and great products,” said Carl Bachmann, CEO of BurgerFi International.” A veteran of the burger and pizza sectors, Bachmann joined the company in July 2023 and plans to expand the brand into new markets and nontraditional spaces.
The Manhattan location will serve as a venue for special events and offer a full selection of alcoholic beverages. Members of the BurgerFi Rewards Programs, known as V-Fi-Ps, will receive invitations to special tasting events held at the restaurant. BurgerFi’s award-winning burgers are made from all-natural beef, free of hormones and other additives.
MassMutual Debuts Rewards Program For Life Insurance Policyholders
Life insurer MassMutual has announced a pilot program designed to incentivize and reward healthy behaviors. Participants in the Wellness-Enhanced Lifestyle & Longevity (WELL) policy rider wear a device that tracks and reports physical activity and sleep data using the company’s proprietary app. Policyholders who meet personalized goals can receive cash incentives up to 5% of their annual premiums.
Launched last month in 22 states, the WELL rider is currently available on MassMutual term life policies. The company says it may expand the program based on policyowner interest and learnings from the pilot.
“We know that individuals increasingly want to take charge of their health and well-being so they can live their best lives,” said Sears Merritt, Head of Enterprise Technology and Experience at MassMutual. “As a mutual company that operates for the benefit of our policyowners, we are focused on not only helping people secure their future and protect the ones they love, but also supporting their overall quality and length of life.”
J.D. Power Reports Surge In Rental Car Customer Satisfaction
Inventory and staffing shortages have plagued rental car agencies in the post-pandemic period, but recent data suggests the tide is turning. Overall customers satisfaction rose by 14 points in the newly released J.D. Power 2023 North America Rental Car Satisfaction Study. The industry now scores 843 on a 1,000-point scale.
J.D. Power cites stabilized pricing, increased vehicle availability, and improved staffing as contributing to the sharp rise in customer satisfaction. However, the outcome of the United Autoworkers (UAW) strike could negatively impact inventories in the months ahead.
“Given the tight correlation we see between vehicle availability, price and customer satisfaction, it’s going to be important to keep an eye on the UAW strike as a potential supply chain issue that could negatively affect customer satisfaction during the course of the next year,” said Michael Taylor, Managing Director of Travel, Hospitality and Retail at J.D.
