Pizza Hut Speeds to a More Future-Ready Restaurant Chain
QSRMagazine.com says that Pizza Hut’s mission to right-size its footprint may have begun years before the pandemic arrived, but COVID-19 undoubtedly quickened the initiative.

The chain closed 2019 with 18,703 stores globally. In 2020, Pizza Hut shed 1,745 restaurants, or 9 percent of the year-ago figure, including 573 closures in Q1 and Q2 combined, and 1,172 total in Q3 and Q4. The closures were partially offset by the opening of 682 locations. Pizza Hut ended 2020 with 17,639 stores, representing a unit decline of 6 percent—it’s the lowest global number since Q3 2018.

Equifax has closed on its purchase of fraud prevention and digital ID firm Kount following the Jan. 8, 2021, announcement of a definitive deal to acquire the company, according to a press release.

Equifax grows its global footprint in digital identity and fraud prevention offerings with the purchase, letting international companies use the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to establish formidable digital identity trust and better engage with their clients through the web, according to the announcement.
 
FAM Brands' Skin360 Donates 3.6M Reusable Face Masks to LAUSD Students
LA based apparel manufacturer FAM Brands will donate 3.6M reusable face masks to the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). The donation includes 600,000 six packs of Skin360® premium facemasks for students and families within the LAUSD system.

"Research tells us that one of the most important ways to reduce the spread of the virus is to wear a mask. To help with that, students will benefit from the generosity of a local clothing and fitness wear manufacturer, FAM Brands. FAM Brands is donating 3.6 million reusable cloth masks, so that every student will receive a package of six masks the day they return to school,"
 
Spirit Airlines Is Hiring Pilots And Flight Attendants Again
CNBC.com reports that Spirit Airlines is planning to start training new pilots and flight attendants as early as next month as the budget carrier positions itself for a travel rebound after the pandemic slump.

“We’ll be a big hirer again,” CEO Ted Christie said Thursday. “Growth in the airline industry is going to be at the leisure end, and we’re the primary server of that guest.”
