Southeastern Grocers Launches Giving Campaign to Support Local Food Banks

Southeastern Grocers has announced a partnership with Feeding America to create a donation campaign. Running through May 15, shoppers can donate by buying a $5 hunger relief donation bag of non-perishable food items. This donation program will help local food banks to stay stocked with items in their desperate time of need.

"We are committed to fighting hunger and providing food to the communities we serve," Anthony Hucker, said President and CEO of Southeastern Grocers, in a press release. "At Southeastern Grocers, we believe this responsibility expands outside our doors and into the homes of our neighbors in need. This is why we have created a simple way we can all help replenish food pantry shelves and provide nourishment to those in need. As a community, we are stronger together and will overcome these difficult times by showing kindness to our neighbors."

Circle K has announced it passed 25 million meals donated to Feeding America food banks thanks to the campaign the brand launched April 10. This campaign gave one meal for every fuel transaction made at a Circle K.

"We are proud to have reached a donation of 25 million meals through our partnership with Feeding America, and to extend our support to 40 million meals in this time of tremendous need in our communities," says Brian Hannasch, President and CEO of Circle K, in a Circle K press release. "I want to thank all of our employees and customers for being part of the solution in the communities where we work and live, and for helping Circle K make it easier for so many families in need during these difficult days. As we are all in this together, I am grateful we can turn to them to reach this new goal of 40 million meals."
