Sweetgreen Improves Expands Loyalty Program
Sweetgreen, the health-focused restaurant chain, has invested in its loyalty program to better accommodate and reward its most loyal customers. Members of Sweetpass and Sweetpass+ can now earn & redeem rewards in-store when paying at check out.
“Our customers are the heart of our business. With nearly 50% of Sweetgreen customers purchasing in-store, we are excited to offer the best of our rewards across all our owned channels,” says Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer, Nathaniel Ru. “Starting today, our loyalty program works on all in-store orders, driving unmatched value, customer experience and savings with the simplicity of in-person scanning.”
To celebrate the launch of this feature, Sweetpass members can get a free beverage, bag of chips or Crispy Rice Treat with a minimum purchase of $9.95 when they scan the QR code in stores from Sept. 26 through Oct. 1. This will support literacy and customer engagement in the loyalty program for Sweetpass and Sweetpass+ members while providing more benefits as they select their order.
Alaska Airlines Offers Status Match Targeting Delta Airlines Loyalty Members
With changes to Delta Airlines’ SkyMiles Rewards program, competitors are leveraging resources to sway disgruntled loyalty members. Alaska Airlines is offering a loyalty match promotion for Delta SkyMiles members. Members of SkyMiles Medallion, the highest tier of the Delta Airlines loyalty program, can now join Alaska Airlines Elite tier, the highest of the selection, to receive premier rewards and benefits. To offer a smooth transition, fliers can switch to the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan without a spending limit and only have to open an Alaska Airlines credit card by Dec. 31, 2023.
"We've always believed that loyalty is about more than just revenue and that earning elite status shouldn't require a second mortgage," says Brett Catlin, Alaska Airlines Vice President of Loyalty, Alliances, and Sales.
Delta changed their SkyMiles Rewards program by reducing the number of visits to the Delta SkyLounge for top-paying members while also changing the parameters for member-tier status to spend amount instead of miles flown. Changes to airline loyalty will have a big impact on how businesses adapt their rewards programs in ever-changing times.
